Nine Albums: Faces

Those artists brave (or narcissistic) enough to put a face on an LP cover deserve our respect (or derision). If an album’s sound can’t match its cover, then abandon it it (or don’t). Perhaps the most powerful feature of a face is its eyes: I can (but most definitely, cannot) feel the presence of the whole album in the eyes of each of these bizarre, disturbing and human faces.
